Golden Anniversary Party

by

Today we are celebrating 50 years of marriage. My parents were wed on the 27th of September in 1958. They are both quite strong still, so perhaps in 25 years I’ll be writing about their Diamond Anniversary party here.

In Japanese we call the Golden Anniversary kinkonshiki (金婚式). The ending really means ‘ceremony’ which seems a bit more formal than our BBQ, but Japanese can often be formal.

My hope is that I can find someone who can tolerate me for 50 years. I am not always the easiest to stomach, but I have some redeeming features. We’ll see what the future holds for me.
