Missed Me, Missed Me

Typhoon number 9 is passing over Tokyo right now on its way north. We are quite a distance to the west, but we still got substantial rain and wind today. The storm is quite wide.

I hope everyone in the east gets through OK, but we are in pretty good shape here. We’ll get a little rain through the day tomorrow as the tail passes over. After that we should get the ultra-clear weather that follows the storm.

I learned new words today:

  • 暴風 boufuu – violent wind (hurricane force wind)
  • 強風 kyoufuu – strong wind (gale force wind)

These are the labels on typhoon maps shown with red and yellow circles to indicate wind strength around the storm.
