Challenge Zone

by

HDTV is getting pushed harder and harder each year. BS Hi-vision, a provider of cable/satellite services, is ramping up this year with a weekday program called BS Hi Challenge Zone. I won’t be able to give full details until Spring, when I too may have this kind of technology.

A news show provided me some detail. One program will show a chahan (called fried rice in America) cook flipping the rice in his pan. It looked like he was surrounded by a couple dozen hi-speed cameras so they could catch his technique in fine detail. Just the bits the showed on my screen looked intriguing. Unless they go into a lot of explanation of what he is doing and how, this could just turn into a showcase for technology, but little else. They briefly showed a couple other upcoming subjects, but I promptly forgot them.
